Things happen in funny ways, and when, last week we received an email from Keir Mills to say that Sky One wanted to speak to us about a new music program I expected a mixed reaction from the girls.
I received a unanimous, "Let's go for it". Now as with most of these things, probably nothing will ever come of it, but what it did prove, was that there is a certain chemistry between one of the most obnoxious, most difficult but also most fun bands I have ever been in. The missed chances, the great songs and the volatile, difficulties that go with having a five piece band containing 5 front men.
After arriving on the scene to find that there was a lot more people than we expected at said audition, to feel sceptical, but to go on and play electronic hearts again, for the first time, for 8 months with no rehearsal and for it to feel damn near perfect, except for the bass (Danny still out of action for now).
This was enough to make me feel that we never split up, we took a break, we took something, we needed SOMETHING, what I still don't know. Danny still isn't ready to play and without him we will never ever be subliminal girls proper.
I think the time has come to start putting stuff together again piece by piece, without having any pressure and without trying to be anything. The "last gig" was a last gig because this will be different.
I for one want to make an album.
A bit vague I know.....as we always stole....barbed wire kisses.
