Evening chaps, it is Sunday night and this week I am mostly going to a desert where there is no music or arts culture what so ever to rest my tired head and body after the last few weeks hecticity.
Really enjoyed playing the first Mayumi Carrex gig with the fades at the urban bar which seems to be situated just on the edge of hell. really good for a first gig. I love playing nasty aggressive bass guitar and I was certainly given the chance to do that, next gig is going to be on the 11th December at the Brixton Windmill for Les "Fruitbat" Carter's birthday. Seemed to drink my own body weight in weird imported lager courtesy of Viz the Spoon and pretty much wrote off the rest of the weekend. The fades we amazing as always, good to see Flash back in the frame too. I hope that they are having the time of their lives in New York this week.
Sunday however, I rehearsed for the first time with Patrick MCourt for his Heart Killed Giant project. This involved finding out that I also enjoy playing soft gentle bass guitar too. Rehearsed on Tuesday, warm up gig on Wednesday and finally the single launch itself on Thursday at the Ritzy Cinema in Brixton. Well, it was totally packed. Pats' voice is something very very special. I think that he is going to go some distance with this. The press seem to love it, XFM keep playing it and the songs, although a much more chilled out that what I am used to, really stick in your head. You could have heard a pin drop during Punch Drunk.

The Inevitable Pinhole Burns have a load of stuff going on but I am not saying anything about it yet. Really enjoyed last nights early show at the buffalo bar, many thanks to A Secret Picnic for some great photos. Next gig is on the 26th of November, a Friday night, in Camden, at the Enterprise with.....Subliminal Girls. Yes I know we have already played our last gig....so what. We can play another few, we haven't seen each other for a while we still have some nice songs to sing and there is no way you could get all 5 of us in a room together unless we have a gig to play. Barbed Wire Kisses etc......
On Tuesday I am of up to Manchester to play guitar for Keith TOTP in support of one of my favourite bands in the world, The Blood Arm. Then I am of to the middle east to sit in the Indian Ocean with my nieces and nephew and get annoyed at their Mid Atlantic accents, they sound like mini Lyod Grossman's. ANd the reference and the top? I just love born to run.
